The consultants working on the redevelopment of Aloha Stadium are holding a public meeting next week on the programmatic environmental impact statement being prepared for the state of Hawaii’s redevelopment of the stadium into a sports and entertainment district.

Crawford Architects, WT Partnership and AHL, formerly known as Architects Hawaii Ltd., will hold the meeting on Sept. 25 at the Aloha Stadium hospitality room.

The state published an EIS preparation notice on the project last week, outlining three possible scenarios for the public-private project that would add hotel, office, entertainment and residential space to the 98-acre stadium property in Halawa.

The public comment period for the EISPN ends on Oct. 8, and Kansas City-based Crawford Architects, which is preparing the EIS, expects to submit a draft by the winter, with a final EIS anticipated in the summer of next year.

Meanwhile, WT Partnership, an international cost-management and building consultancy working with Crawford Architects on the planning, is holding a P3 industry day on Oct. 3 to discuss the public-private partnership aspect of the project.
